STEAM

The goal of this class is to engage and motivate student interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (aka STEAM) through project-based learning. Students in this class will be introduced to the engineering process, programming with finches, and micro-bit. We will incorporate art and other mediums to learn about technology and engineering. The sixth-grade class is part of an exploratory rotation. Students spend about 10 weeks in each of our classes  STEAM, art, and Guidance. 

Robotics

The Robotics elective is a course offered to 7th & 8th-grade students. This class will be a continuation of the STEAM rotation. This course covers robotics, computer graphics, and design and modeling.

 Units include but are not limited to: 

  • MakeCode as an introduction to coding.

  • VEX IQ Robotics where students work in teams to build and program various robots.

  • The use of SketchUp, TinkerCAD, or Blender will be to create models for 3D printing. Students will learn to model, slice, and print.
