AstroCamp
In spring, sixth grade Scholarship Society students will have the opportunity to participate in a trip to Astrocamp near Idyllwild in the San Jacinto Mountains. In the 2023-24 school year, the Astrocamp trip is scheduled for March 4-6.
The Astrocamp trip occurs over a three-day period with students leaving LCMS by bus at about 7:30 am on a Monday morning and returning at about 5:00 pm on Wednesday afternoon. The program offered is an amazing combination of astronomy, physics, and geology. Students live in a dorm for the duration of their stay at Astrocamp. The program is operated by Guided Discoveries, Inc., a company which provides science-based outdoor education. Guided Discoveries provides their trained staff for the program, and LCMS faculty assist the Astrocamp instructors.
